- The popular series Ecos del Mar reviews the municipal actions to protect the marine reserve and the octopus sanctuary project
Magaluf takes centre stage in the latest episode of the documentary series Ecos del Mar, “Calvià- Horizonte sostenible” (Calvià - Sustainable Horizon), now available on Prime Video España and Apple TV. This production, focused on coastal sustainability and the protection of the marine environment, concludes its first season with an episode dedicated to the municipality of Calvià.
The video includes testimonials such as that of Elisa Montserrat, Deputy Mayor for Tourism, who talks about the octopus sanctuary project; and architect Jose Luis Mosteiro, who explains the transformation of the seafront promenade and elements such as the new dunes that now form part of Magaluf's beachfront landscape. And Aniol Esteban, director of the Marilles Foundation, illustrates on Sa Porrassa island.
The episode explores various initiatives promoted by Calvià Town Hall, from beach renaturalisation to the recovery of historical sites, including the protection of Sa Porrassa Island and the ambitious project to create an octopus sanctuary. The series highlights how the municipality has transformed its present while looking to the future, with nature as its guide.
Ecos del Mar also premieres on Sun Channel, the leading Spanish-language tourism channel, broadcast throughout Latin America and the United States. Furthermore, the series plans to expand its international distribution by joining the Love TV Channels catalogue through the Love The Planet channel, available on Pluto TV, Orange TV, TVify, and other platforms in Spain and Europe. With this expansion, Ecos del Mar reinforces its position as a leading series about the sea, sustainability, and responsible tourism.
The production team has expressed its gratitude to Calvià Town Hall, which has helped showcase the municipality's natural, cultural, and touristic value on a global scale.
