More than 1.000 Calvià senior citizens enjoy Pirates Adventure show in Magaluf for free.

  • This was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Calvià Town Hall and the company that owns the show

More than 1.000 people from various clubs and associations in Calvià enjoyed the Pirates Adventure show in Magaluf free of charge this Tuesday at an event organised by the Town Hall. The event was attended by Mayor Juan Antonio Amengual, much of his government team, and the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés. Two performances of the show were held. A group of 60 senior citizens from Andratx, accompanied by their Mayoress, Estefanía Gonzalvo, were also invited.

This initiative is framed within two of the lines promoted by Calvià Town Hall: ensuring that tourism, in this case an attraction like Pirates Adventure, is integrated into the municipality and enjoyed by residents; and promoting activities for senior citizens in Calvià. Furthermore, it highlights the positive relationship between public and private initiatives and how the latter is increasingly committed to social responsibility within the municipality.

Juan Antonio Amengual expressed his gratitude for the involvement of the Sasson family's company: "Having you in our municipality is a true privilege. You are always willing to collaborate, and you have made corporate social responsibility not just a label, but a tangible reality, a way of understanding life and business in our town."

Pirates Magaluf, one of the island's most acclaimed dinner and adventure shows, was created by Jacques Sasson in 1985. His legacy lives on today under the direction of his daughter, Catherine Sasson. Jacques Sasson's dedication and contribution to the Magaluf community were recognised by naming a local square in his honour.

Amengual also had a few words for the municipality's senior citizens: "You are the envy of other municipalities, and I say that from experience." The vitality, the desire to live, to learn and to stay active through your clubs and associations is an example for all of Mallorca."
