The Rei en Jaume Festival reached its most emblematic day today in Santa Ponça with the historical reenactment of the 1229 landing. A total of 22 groups (13 Christian and 9 Moorish) and more than 1.500 participants transported the municipality back to the medieval era to commemorate the 797th anniversary of the arrival of the Aragonese troops.

The main programme featured performances by Mateo García Bennàssar as king Rei en Jaume and Óscar Blanco Domingo as the Moorish king Abu-Yahya. Both led their respective sides through the various stages of the battle, with notable clashes at the Landing Cross, the Caló d'en Pellicer, and the traditional final duel on the sand of Santa Ponça beach.

Calvià Town Hall expresses its gratitude to all the participating groups, residents, and visitors who made it possible to strengthen this key event in the municipality's festive and cultural calendar.
