The Social Services Department of Calvià Town Hall has organised a Self-Defense Workshop to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, celebrated this past Monday. The event will take place next Saturday 30th November from 11 a.m. at the Melani Costa sports centre in Calvià village.

The event - with an estimated duration of three hours - will begin at 11 a.m. with a presentation on violence prior to the workshop, which will be given by Elena Cavana, director of the Goshin-Self-Defense Department of the Balearic Karate Federation (FBK) and Eduardo García, Goshin-Self-Defense instructor of the FBK. The event will be attended by agents from the Calvià Local Police and the UGFAS (Management Unit for the Armed Forces and Security).

Women aged 12 and over can participate - minors accompanied or with written authorization. A playroom will also be provided for children aged 2 and over. In any case, prior registration is required at https://forms.gle/7nRsMdA8n19kpvS8A
