Calvià Town Hall presents “Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf” (My favourite spot of Magaluf) competition, inviting citizens to upload photographs of the municipality to the Instagram social network
Calvià Town Hall presents «Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf», a competition on Instagram inviting citizens to upload photographs of the area to show and discover the most notable features of it: their favourite landscape, a bucolic sunset, a park full of activity, a little-known spot, their favourite dish of typical gastronomy or the most representative square in full swing, amongst other ideas. The competition will have its own character, but in addition the submitted works will compete, along with photographs from all over the country, for the «Mi rincón favorito» national awards, which seek to recognise the best images from all over Spain.
The aim of the call is to stimulate creative capacity in photography while generating enriching content on social media. Furthermore, the competition meets the purpose of promoting tourism by allowing users themselves to share their opinions about the town they consider most relevant, taking advantage of the viral nature of social media communication.
To participate, simply take a snapshot with a mobile phone or any other device, upload it to Instagram using the competition hashtags (#mirinconfavorito and #mirinconfavoritodemagaluf) and fill out the following registration form (link to form, terms and conditions included) as many times as the number of photos submitted. The text describing the image will be part of the work and may be taken into account by the jury when selecting the winning entries. The format and length of this text are optional, and emoticons may be included. Anyone who wishes to participate may do so, regardless of age or place of birth. The only requirement is that the work must have been created in the town or make reference to it.
The competition will have two prizes: a first prize of 200 euros and a second prize of 100 euros. The winning entry will be printed on various promotional materials (postcards, stickers, and posters) recognising it as the competition winner.
In addition, the winning photograph will be eligible for the national awards of "Mi rincón favorito" project. The complete 2024 list of winners can be consulted on our website
The deadline for submitting works to «Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf» competition will be open from 1st to 29th June, inclusive. The local awards will be announced on 7th July, and the national winners will be announced on 27th September, coinciding with World Tourism Day.
The «Mi rincón favorito» initiative will enter its fifth year at the national level in 2025. Its first three editions saw 70 local competitions and more than 8.000 images were submitted.
