- Sa Rua parade will take place through the streets of Calvià village on the afternoon of Saturday, 14th February
The artist Iñaki Fernández Iturmendi is the winner of the poster competition to promote Sa Rua de Calvià 2026, organised by the Town Hall's Culture Department. The winning work, submitted under the slogan "Posa-hi imaginació" (Add imagination), stands out for its original design that evokes the freedom of transformation inherent in these festivities through a clean and direct aesthetic.
This new edition is boosted by the success of last year's participation. Sa Rua Calvià 2025 broke all participation records, with a total of 1.000 people registered to parade individually and as part of the 9 floats and 12 registered groups. These figures represented an increase of almost 10 percent compared to the previous year. For 2026, the council anticipates that this upward trend will continue and expects another high level of participation from residents and visitors.
Following the guidelines of the municipality's public competitions, the terms and conditions expressly prohibit the use of artificial intelligence, rewarding only the direct creative work of the author. The prize is endowed with 400€. The competition aims to stimulate artistic creation and, at the same time, promote Sa Rua de Calvià.
Sa Rua 2026 route and itinerary
The grand Sa Rua festival will take place on Saturday, 14th February in Calvià village. Participants will gather from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Ses Quarterades car park, and the street will be closed to traffic from 4:00 p.m. onwards. The parade is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
The route will follow Ses Quarterades St., Mayor St., Palma Avenue, and Julià Bujosa Sans (batle) St., ending at the Town Hall's car park. At the end of the parade's route, grills and tables will be set up outside the marquee, while inside there will be bar service and music with a DJ to celebrate the end of the festivity until 11:00 p.m.
Registration for the parade
The Town Hall will distribute a total of 4.720€ in prizes amongst the individual/couple, group, and float categories. Those interested in participating must register between Tuesday, 3rd February and Tuesday, 10th February 2026.
Registration can be done at the Town Hall's Culture Department from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or at the various cultural centres in the municipality in the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
