  • Together with the recently opened calisthenics spaces and El Toro skatepark, these projects have entailed a total investment of 281.844€

Works have now been completed on three new bio-healthy parks located in Costa de la Calma, Es Capdellà and Santa Ponça. These new facilities are designed to encourage outdoor physical exercise and promote healthy lifestyle habits amongst Calvià residents.

The bio-healthy parks that have been opened are part of a set of eight projects that also include calisthenics spaces in Santa Ponça, Son Ferrer, Calvià village and Peguera, and a skatepark in El Toro.

The installation and adaptation of these infrastructures have been possible thanks to a Consell de Mallorca grant for the rehabilitation of sports areas. In total, these projects have involved a joint investment of 281.844,29€, of which 198.842,84 have been financed by the Consell de Mallorca and 83.001,45€ by Calvià Town Hall through the Institut Calvianer d'Esports (ICE) (Calvià Sports Institute).

The works' handover took place on Wednesday and were attended by the Mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual; the Consell de Mallorca's Second Vice President and Regional Minister of Sports, Pedro Bestard; and Calvià's Deputy Mayor for Sports, Javier Tascón.

With these initiatives, Calvià Town Hall continues progressing in improving its public spaces and promoting sport as a tool for improving health, prevention, and social cohesion.
