Any person living in Spain is obliged to register in the census of the municipality in which he/she usually resides, you can only be registered in one municipality. When there is a change of address within the municipality of Calvià, the person concerned must process this change, otherwise it may result in deregistration. In the case of a change of residence to another Spanish municipality, it will be sufficient to register in the municipality of destination causing deregistration in the Calvia census.
In order to register or change your address in Calviá you must request an appointment
- Telematically: By accessing the ‘Alta/cambio de domicilio’ service at the Calvià Council's Electronic Office. To do this, you must identify yourself with an electronic certificate/DNIe and provide the same documentation as for the in-person procedure. The administration has a period of 3 months to resolve your application. At that time you will receive your census certificate as proof of completion of the procedure.
- In person: You must provide documentation accrediting the following requirements:
1. IDENTIFICATION OF THE PERSON/S CONCERNED:
To prove identity, the original and valid identity document must be presented.
- Spanish: DNI, passport or driving licence.
Minors under 14 years of age without DNI: family book or individual civil registry record. - European foreigners: passport or foreign identity card. If you have one: EU citizen registration certificate (green NIE). Children under 14 years of age: passport or foreign identity card. Failing this, you must provide an officially translated birth certificate.
- Non-EU foreigners: passport or foreigner's identity card (TIE).
Children under 14 years of age: passport or TIE. Failing this, you must provide an officially translated birth certificate if necessary.
2. ACCREDIT THE USE OF THE DWELLING:
- Ownership of the property: If the purchase is not recent, the official staff can check the ownership in the Cadastre.
In the case of a recent purchase, the property deed must be provided. - Holder of the rental housing contract: Rental contract accompanied by proof of payment for the current month.
- Check the requirements that the contract must fulfil, and that the civil servants will evaluate during the process. You will find them at the end of this page.
In case of not being the owner of the property:
- Authorisation signed by the owner of the property (You can download the document at the bottom of this page).
- Original, photo or photocopy of the identity document of the person who owns the property.
- Documentation proving ownership of the property: deed or rental contract together with proof of payment for the current month).

3. FILLING IN THE CENSUS FORM:
This document is completed by civil servants (in the in-person procedure) once the correct identification and use of the dwelling has been assessed. It must be signed by all adults who are going to register at the time. For the in-person procedure, attendance is compulsory.
Only minors and those persons who have been granted power of attorney can register through a representative. For all other situations, there is a telematic procedure for which they must be able to identify themselves digitally (electronic certificate/DNIe). In order to act through a representative for persons of legal age, a completed and signed registration form must be provided by the interested party.
