Droughts in Ethiopia are frequent problems, but due to the meteorological phenomenon “El Niño” the effects of the lack of rain have caused enormous damage to agriculture, the main sector where the population works. The nutritional consequences are terrible since malnutrition and dehydration have multiplied. According to UNICEF data, 6 million boys and girls are at risk, and 450,000 need nutritional treatment. Faced with this situation, Calvià City Council signed an agreement with the UNICEF Foundation so that the most vulnerable populations in Ethiopia have access to safe and drinking water. |
