This year, we will start the Cultural Routes programme, with an excursion to Cala Figuera. Meeting point: The parking space at Portals Vells beach, at 10 a.m. It is expected that the excursion will have a duration of three hours. Registrations at the Culture Department. Cala Figuera is one of the Calvià´s coastal areas, that partly, preserves the pretourist environment. Taking advantage of the path that goes from Portals Vells to the Cala Figuera tower, going round the cliffs, we will do an excursion which will allow us to see, from the Portals Vells and Cala Figuera defence towers to the quarries from where part of the Mares stone (sandstone) was extracted in order to build the cathedral, passing by the defense small fort or the Cala Figuera lighthouse.
