One of the most spectacular trail running races in Mallorca returns to the Serra de Tramuntana on 17th March. The Galatzó Trail aims to repeat the success of the last edition, in which all the places were sold out months before the event. The Galatzó public estate will once again host a 100% mountain itinerary in a privileged environment. This year, as a novelty, registrations are formalised through Sportmaniacs.com.

The goal, to be a legend

Only thus runners will be able to face the 43 km of the most demanding race, the Galatzó Legend. Participants will have to run to the top of s'Esclop and Galatzó with a cumulative elevation gain of 4350 m. In parallel, the Galatzó Half will test the mid-distance trail runners with a 23 km half marathon that accumulates an elevation gain of 1837 m.

The environment that Calvià offers at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana is unbeatable for a competition such as the Galatzó Trail. The public estate will host a tough tour that combines fascinating landscapes and views of the UNESCO World Heritage, worthy of a marathon.

Itinerary

The Galatzó Legend and the Galatzó Half will depart from Plaça de Sa Vinya in Es Capdellà and will enter the Galatzó public estate. The marathon participants will crown both mountains, will descend and then climb Ses Planes before returning to the village. In the middle distance, the runners will follow the paths of the estate but will not reach the top of either of the two peaks.

Activities and services

The race will count with added services to make the event a complete experience. There will be entertainment at the finish area, which will make the runners' arrival a real party. The day before the race, participants can take part in a briefing, a conference and an appetizer at the runner's fair along with the offer of several products for a last set-up.
