Calvià hosts 'La veu de la mar' traveling exhibition with 32 images of the Balearic seabed.

  • The winning images of the 5th Audiovisual Competition for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea are on display
  • The exhibition can be visited until 22nd July in Plaça Momentum in Magaluf

The municipality of Calvià is hosting, from today Thursday, the traveling exhibition 'La veu de la mar', organised by MARE and supported by Calvià Town Hall, amongst other entities. The exhibition, which brings together 32 images of the Balearic seabed, can be visited in Plaça Momentum in Magaluf until 22nd July.

La veu de la mar presents a selection of the winning images from the fifth edition of the Audiovisual Competition for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea that took place last year. The exhibition offers an ''immersive'' and interactive experience, where each image features a QR code that links to the author's Instagram profile, where the author shares both, a conservation message and a vision of the Balearic Sea.

With a design that emulates the visual language of social media, the exhibition seeks to break down barriers and reach a wide audience, inviting reflection and action in support of marine conservation. The images not only show the beauty and fragility of the Balearic Sea, but also become tools for awareness, action, and transformation.

An institutional visit to the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, 8th July at 7 p.m. with the presence of members of Calvià Town Hall and MARE, including the Mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual; the Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Elisa Monserrat; and Abraham Calero and Amador Garcias, from the MARE collaborating team.

The exhibition is part of the awareness-raising campaign on sustainable tourism in Magaluf, which promotes responsible attitudes amongst tourists and residents, encouraging coexistence and care for the environment. The initiative is promoted by the Balearic Government through the Sustainable Tourism Tax and has the support of Calvià Town Hall through the Magaluf for All campaign.

MARE is a collaborative initiative driven by organizations, associations, and relevant institutions from the world of conservation, photography, and video. It also has the support of public institutions, private companies, and media outlets committed to marine conservation.
