Calvià Town Hall has made a significant investment in improving and modernising the lighting at several of its municipal sports facilities with the aim of promoting energy efficiency and optimising consumption. This project, carried out over the last three months, involved switching to LED technology at a total of five football fields in the municipality.
The total investment for this improvement amounts to 170.565,74€. The renovation has taken place at the Pas de ses Llebres football pitch in Peguera, the 11-a-side and 7-a-side football pitches at the Santa Ponça municipal sports centre, the 7-a-side football pitch at the Son Caliu sports area, and the Julián Ronda football pitch in Costa d'en Blanes.
The implementation of LED technology represents an advance in the quality of lighting for athletes and spectators and also represents the Town Hall's firm commitment to environmental sustainability and the responsible management of public resources. This measure is expected to generate significant savings in energy consumption and, consequently, in the maintenance costs of these municipal facilities.
