-The workshop 'Descubriendo la luz' (Discovering light) will bring optics closer to younger and older ones through simple and fun experiments
-It is part of the Ciudad Ciencia project, promoted by the CSIC in collaboration with 50 town halls throughout Spain

How does the eye work? What is fiber optics? What are the basic colors? The "Descubriendo la luz" workshop invites the inhabitants of Calvià to find out the answer to these and many other questions related to optics. Through simple and fun experiments, research staff from the CSIC's 'Daza de Valdés' Optics Institute will explain concepts such as refraction or reflection.

The activity is free of charge. The experiments are suitable for all audiences and will be carried out at Santa Ponça Municipal Library for families.
Ciudad Ciencia was launched in March 2012 so that the inhabitants of Spanish towns can learn first-hand about current science and technology. It currently has 50 participating locations located throughout Spain. The website www.ciudadciencia.es offers workshops and 'online' content, as well as detailed information on the activities programmed in this town.
