- Calvià will celebrate International Family Day on Sunday, 18th May, with a fellowship and brotherhood gathering full of activities for everyone
On Sunday, 18th May, the Galatzó Public Estate will host a very special day to celebrate International Family Day with the Family Pancaritat, an event aimed at all audiences that combines nature, tradition, and recreational activities.
It will be a brotherhood gathering designed to be enjoyed as a community and as a family, in a natural setting and with a full programme of activities for both adults and children. The day will begin at 11 a.m. with a Mass officiated by Carlos Fuentes, the rector of the parish church of Calvià Village, Es Capdellà, Santa Ponça, and Peguera, at the estate houses' clastra.
Then, amongst the planned activities, there will be ball de bot workshops, several family yoga sessions, an awareness-raising talk on Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a children's activity involving the construction of talaiots and medieval fantasy animals. In addition, hiking trails around the public estate will be at the availability of visitors so that they can enjoy the landscape and surroundings.
Lunchtime will be at 2 p.m., during which everyone must bring their own lunch, although families may share their own food with others in a relaxed atmosphere. At 3 p.m., there will be a ball de bot session led by the Calvià Municipal Music School. The celebration will end at 4 p.m. after a day filled with camaraderie and connection with nature. A bar service will be available throughout the day.
It is recommended to walk to the estate from Es Capdellà (approximately 50 minutes), although to facilitate attendance, a free shuttle bus service has been set up, departing from 9:30 a.m. from the Melani Costa sports centre, Es Capdellà, and Ca'n l'Amo En Biel (Galatzó), and returning as from 3:30 p.m. No prior registration is required for the bus service.
