Calvià Town Hall will contract 25 unemployed people over the age of 35 through the SOIB Visibles 2017 programme
From 15th October, the Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC and the Llar de Calvià (Senior Citizens Home of Calvià), will contract for six months 25 unemployed workers, over 35, full time, to carry out works or services of general and social interest which will affect the entire municipality of Calvià.
This programme has a funding of € 271,100.00 from the SOIB and the Sectorial Conference. Once again, thanks to this entity, local entities (including their municipal companies and autonomous bodies) can contract unemployed people over 35 years of age, registered as job seekers in the SOIB at least twelve of the eighteen months prior to the time of making the pre-selection, preferably those not receiving unemployment benefits.
This programme will develop two specific lines of action:
LINE 1 (POPULATION IN GENERAL)
• CALVIÀ INTEGRA II: Global project in which several municipal areas participate:
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND YOUTH: Actions to improve and maintain the Es Generador building and citizen participation premises.
NATURAL AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT: Actions to improve, refurbish and maintain the public estate of Galatzó.
MUNICIPAL SPORTS INSTITUTE (ICE): Improvement of gardened areas of municipal sports facilities. Improvement of sports facilities.
MOBILITY, ROADS AND WORKS AND MAINTENANCE: Recovery of several sections of Calvià promenade and the main beach promenades. Improvement of gardens in areas between Cala Higuera and Peguera. Refurbishment of schools and cultural centres of the municipality (in collaboration with the IMEB and the Department of Culture).
CALVIÀ TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT INSTITUTE (IFOC): Support and administrative management of the project.
• LLAR DE CALVIÀ (SENIOR CITIZENS HOME): Maintenance and improvement of the Home for the Elderly building and the Centres for the elderly in Calvià.
LINE 2 (PROJECTS SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSED TO WOMEN): Project that affects two specific areas and activities:
• COAST LINE PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT: Studies and municipal actions to the maritime coastline of Calvià.
• TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT INSTITUTE OF CALVIÀ (IFOC): Actions to improve occupancy.
Finally highlight the involvement of the SOCIAL SERVICES department in the tasks of information and referral of people with social vulnerability of the municipality to participate in these programmes.
When all these projects are completed, the IFOC will make available to these workers the necessary resources to promote their occupation, amongst others, the Municipal Employment Agency and the Orientation, Entrepreneur and Training Services.
