Calvià will have a new Job Launcher
Calvià will have a new Employment Launcher in November. It will be the fifth edition to operate in the municipality after the good results achieved in previous editions, where a 60% insertion rate was achieved. This was announced today by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the director of the Employment Launchers Programme in Santa María la Real Foundation, Álvaro Retortillo, during the signing of the agreement between both entities.
"Since the beginning of the legislature, we have made a firm and decisive commitment to the implementation of active employment policies in the municipality, the Launchers, as well as other 100% municipal financing projects, reflect very clearly the commitment of this consistory, in providing citizens with more and better tools for their effective employment, "said mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal.
Requirements to participate
The V Employment Launcher of Calvià will start in November with 20 places, aimed at unemployed people aged between 18 and 59 years. They can have any level of training (ESO, Vocational Training, Baccalaureate, as well as diploma or university degrees) and come from any labour sector, whether they have previous experience or not. Precisely, the objective is to set up a team of 20 participants as varied and heterogeneous as possible so that there is no competition amongst them when searching work, but also share knowledge and experiences, and opt for a collaborative culture to boost their access to the labour market.
What will they do in the Launcher?
The 20 people selected will meet several days a week in municipal premises. With the guidance of a specialised technician they will carry out various activities to optimise their job search: self-knowledge and emotional intelligence workshops, communication dynamics, personal branding and job search 2.0; training of personal interviews; mapping of employability and visits to companies.
"The launcher is not a mere course to update the curriculum. Nor is it an employment agency where we give work to the participants. It is an intensive programme to help unemployed people activate and optimise their job search with new techniques that allow them to gain confidence and security in the interviews, and with new activities that bring them closer to the business fabric ", explained the Director of the Employment Launchers' Programme, Álvaro Retortillo Osuna.
