Municipal government team restructuring

Saturday 13th January 2018

Communiqué on the restructuring of the municipal government team of Calvià

The Mayor of Calvià will undertake, shortly, a restructuring of the municipal government team that is determined by the recent resignation of the deputy mayor for Youth and Citizen Participation and by the upcoming retirement of the deputy mayor for Tourism, Commerce and Urbanism, Antonio García Moles, which will take place in the month of February.

The restructuring, which will be reflected in the 2018 Budget project - whose approval plenary will be held on 22nd January-, will respond to the "Will to continue the project and the commitments of the investiture agreement, making the minimum possible changes, "said mayor Alfonso Badal.

With the retirement of Antonio García Moles, Marcos Pecos Quintans, currently the General Director of Sports of Calvià Town Hall, has joined the government team.

The new structure, which will be effective in February, will be distributed as follows:

The Mayor will assume two areas of strong political and strategic importance, such as Tourism and the General Urban Planning Office.

The Beach and Coast delegations which depend on General Services and Security will become part of the organisational chart of the first deputy mayor, Andreu Serra, who also heads the public company Calvià 2000 that manages different key environmental sectors, such as water, cleaning and waste.

The deputy mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, will take charge of the Housing area that faces, in the immediate future, two lines of action: the start-up of public rental housing already built and the promotion of public housing in Magaluf.

The new councillor, Marcos Pecos, who will occupy a mayor's office, will be in charge of the areas of Citizen Participation and Youth, as well as the Urban Planning Department. Under this mayor's office he will also be in charge of the areas of Commerce, Environment, Animal Welfare, Rural World and the Public Estate of Galatzó, headed by the councillor Francisca Muñoz, who will also assume the Heritage delegation.

The restructuring also entails that the new councillor will take over the management of the area of El Toro.
