New Training + Employment Programmes

THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ AND THE REGIONAL MINISTER FOR EMPLOYMENT, COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY PRESENT THE NEW TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES THAT ARE HELD IN CALVIÀ AND WHICH HAVE ALLOWED THE CONTRACTING OF 55 UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the regional minister for Employment, Commerce and Industry of the Balearic Islands Government, Iago Negueruela, presented today at the municipal consistory the SOIB JOVE and SOIB 30 Training and Employment Programmes. A total of 55 unemployed people (young people under 30, over 30 years old long-term unemployed people and programme management professionals) participate performing works of general interest in the municipality of Calvià.

 
TWO 'SOIB JOVE' TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES


Two programmes were initiated on 31
st January at the IFOC (Employment and Training Institute of Calvià) that have allowed the hiring, during 9 months, of professionals registered in the SOIB and U30 unemployed people, job searchers and people enrolled in the national youth guarantee system.

BOSC URBÀ (1,260 hours): 3 professionals and 10 student-workers hired. During this time they can obtain two professionalism certificates: "Auxiliary activities in forest uses" and "Auxiliary activities in preservation and improvement of mountains" by carrying out forestry actions in urban and peri-urban areas of Santa Ponça, Costa de la Calma, Archaeological Park of sa Morisca, Galatzó and other areas of the municipality.
 

SENDA (1,260 hours): 4 professionals and 10 student-workers hired. The 'Low and medium mountain itineraries guide' professionalism certificate will be carried out by performing definition, cataloging and signaling tasks and other actions related to hiking trails and routes of interest of hikers throughout the municipality.

These programmes have a total grant of 327,212.10 euros through the Servei d'Ocupació de les Illes Balears (SOIB) (Employment Service of the Balearic Islands), with the participation of the SEPE and the co-financing of the European Social Fund (ESF), through the Operative Youth Employment Programme for the 2014-2020 period.


TWO 'SOIB 30' TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES
 

On 15th February, two programmes were initiated at the IFOC, which allowed the hiring of professionals registered in the SOIB and unemployed people over 30 years of age, job seekers, INFOVERD (1,680 hours): It is a project with a duration of 12 months comprised of 4 professionals and 10 student-workers. This totally innovative initiative will allow the implementation of information actions related to the recycling and waste treatment for hotels, commercial establishments and the general population of the municipality of Calvià. On the other hand, the 'Administrative Activities' professionalism certificate will be given regarding the client with administration, computing and English modules.



SON FERRER (1,260 hours): It is a project comprised of 4 professionals and 10 student-workers. During this time they can obtain the certificate of auxiliary activities in plant nurseries, gardens and garden centres and a partial certificate of auxiliary activities in agriculture, focusing their activity on gardened areas of Son Ferrer mainly, but also in the municipal plant nursery, in the facilities of the Senior Citizens Home of Calvià and in Galatzó.

These programmes have a total subsidy of 383,880 euros through the SOIB and with funds from the LXIV Sectoral Conference on Occupation and Labour Issues

When all the aforementioned projects are completed, the IFOC will put at their disposal the necessary resources to promote the employment of these workers, amongst which are the Municipal Employment Agency and the Orientation, Entrepreneur and Training Service.
