SON FERRER RECEIVES THE FIRST LINE OF ACCESSIBLE CONTAINERS
The selective collection containers will be completely renovated in this area by the end of this month
Calvià 2000 has renovated the first municipal waste collection point in Son Ferrer, with the installation of side loading containers holding the UNE 170001 universal accessibility standard compliance certificate. The rest of selective collection points in this area , up to 45, will be renovated by the end of this month.
The new containers meet the universal accessibility conditions certified in the UNE 170001 standard, which refer to the condition that environments and products must meet to be understandable, usable and practicable by all people in safety and comfort conditions and the most autonomous and natural way possible.
In this sense, for instance, the containers installed have lower mouths that can be reached more easily by children or elderly people. In addition, the new containers have a relief that allows the identification of each fraction for people with visual disabilities.
The renovation only affects the 3,200-litre containers for the selective collection of packaging and paper-cardboard (the yellow and blue ones, respectively). The acquisition has had a cost of 81.270 euros.
