THE XXXIV SOL HALF MARATHON MAGALUF WARMS UP ENGINES
Half Marathon, 10 km, Urban Mile and Kids Sol Run are the races that the event incorporates
The longest lived running race in Calvià starts on 28th April, maintaining its identity: all services for the athlete and a complete programme of previous activities for all audiences. The half marathon and the 10km race are the two main distances of the event, which this year celebrates its 34th edition.
The circuit for the two races, designed with the collaboration of local athletes, runs through the areas of Magaluf, Palmanova and Son Ferrer. Its route is fast, coastal and urban. The great attraction is the spectacular arrival at the finish line, when the participants run the last metres on the Magaluf beach promenade and cross the finish line facing the sea, with the island of Sa Porrasa in the background.
The Sol Half Marathon Magaluf also has other sports events such as the II Urban Mile or the Sol Kids Run children's race. The Urban Mile is a short athletics event, 1,690 metres, which will take place on Thursday 26th April in a flat circuit running through the centre of Magaluf (Avenida de S'Olivera and Galió Street). It is a semi-nocturnal race and serves as a prelude to the half marathon.
The registration for the half marathon and the 10-kilometre race includes all the necessary services for the athlete: timing, refreshment during and after the race, medical and physiotherapy service, showers, cloakroom, race animation, commemorative T-shirt and finisher medal, amongst others. In this edition, the Sol Half Marathon distributes up to four thousand euros in prizes that serve to ensure each year the presence of the best local athletes and some of the most prominent national and international athletes.
The organisation of the event has designed a wide range of parallel activities that complete the experience of the participants and their companions in Calvià. The already traditional Pasta Party will take place the evening before the race at the Hotel Katmandú Park & Resort, while on the 26th and 27th April the Runner's Fair will take place at the Athletics Track in Magaluf.
