A WOMAN WHO ASSAULTED A TOURIST IS SENTENCED TO NOT APPROACH THE MAGALUF AREA
The penalty also includes three years and six months' inprisonment, her expulsion from Spain and the payment of 700 € for a crime of injury
A woman who assaulted a tourist to rob him causing him injuries has been condemned by the Criminal Court No. 1 of Palma to three years and six months' inprisonment, to be expelled from Spain and has been prohibited from residing or approaching less than 3km from the Magaluf area for 5 years. In addition, for the crime of injury, she will have to pay a fine of 300 € and compensate the victim of the attack with 400€ for the injuries caused.
The woman, who had criminal records, assaulted a tourist on the Avenida Magaluf in the early hours of 4thSeptember 2016. She, along with other unidentified women, approached a man, pushed him into an alley, and struggled until he fell to the ground. Then, she managed to steal, amongst other belongings, a credit card and 50 € in cash. The tourist suffered minor injuries on the right shoulder and hand, so he had to be treated and receive dressings for eight days.
Civil Guard members managed to arrest the violent thieve. On its behalf, the Calvià Town Hall, before the possible non-appearance of the victim on the day of the trial, appeared in the case as a private accusation. The objective was that, in case of conviction, restraining measures were imposed on the Magaluf area. In fact, for the same purpose, the Calvià Town Hall has already appeared in three other cases that are pending and have not yet been tried. The Calvià Town Hall will continue working on this same line and will support the request for precautionary measures that contribute to eradicating criminal activities of this nature in the Magaluf area.
