 Friday 11th May 2018

CALVIÀ, HEADQUARTERS OF THE 25TH COPEAM ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The mayor welcomed the members of COPEAM that brings together the main Euro-Mediterranean radio and television stations

Calvià is the headquarters, these days, of the 25th Annual Conference of La Conferencia Permanente del Audiovisual Mediterráneo (COPEAM) (Mediterranean Audiovisual Permanent Conference) that brings together the main Euro-Mediterranean radio and television stations, audiovisual and cultural operators, and institutional representatives of the region.

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, was in charge of welcoming the participants in this meeting that takes place in Magaluf, from 10
th to 12th May, in which Heritage is the central theme of the sessions.

In his welcome remarks before the media representatives and the Euro-Mediterranean operators, the mayor was pleased with an event of this nature to be held in Calvià, putting back again the municipality in general, and Magaluf, in particular, in the centre attention of the public media of the Mediterranean, thus giving the opportunity to let know the reconversion that is being carried out from the public-private initiative to improve the model and the quality of the destination.

Alfonso Rodríguez Badal invited those present to visit and enjoy the rich cultural, historical and natural heritage that the municipality has and that is being promoted in the promotional actions so that the people who decide to visit us know Calvià's great patrimonial values in addition to its sun and beaches.

Thus, he highlighted the great wealth of sites that exist in the municipality, such as the Puig de sa Morisca which is the archaeological park that gathers more sites of the Balearic Islands, or the vestiges and traditions that remain of the entrance of king Jaume troops in the Conquesta de Mallorca. He also invited them to visit the Galatzó estate and to contemplate spaces such as El Toro and the Malgrats marine reserves or the Cala Figuera-Rabalbetx Special Interest area.
