SENIOR CITIZENS SOCIOCULTURAL PROMOTION PROGRAMME
Today, the subsidies for the Senior Citizens Sociocultural Promotion programme have been given to the Senior Citizens Associations of Calvià. The main objective of this programme is to promote social participation and active aging of the elderly in the municipality of Calvià. It is intended for those over 65 years of age, seniors due to early retirement and pensioners for widowhood or disability from 55 years of age, as well as the respective spouses.
In Calvià there are 10 senior citizens associations: Calvià, Es Capdellà, Peguera, Galatzó, Santa Ponça, El Toro, Son Ferrer, Palmanova Magaluf, Son Caliu and Portals Nous.
Throughout the 2017-2018 academic year, the following activities have been carried out:
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: aquagym, yoga, gymnastics and dance
CULTURAL/ARTS ACTIVITIES : memory, cognitive stimulation, computer science and choir
ARTISTIC ACTIVITIES: painting
