ACT AND AGREEMENT ON THE OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LGTBIQ PRIDE DAY
On the occasion of the International LGTBIQ Pride Day, an event was held at the Calvià Town Hall with the manifesto reading by the president of Ben Amics, Noelia Mellado, and the reading of the decalogue of support to the LGTBIQ community prepared by young people of the municipality. The act has ended with the release of coloured confetti.
Before the ceremony, the mayor of Calvià Alfonso Rodríguez Badal signed an agreement with the president of Ben Amics. The purpose of the agreement is the collaboration between Calvià Town Hall and Ben Amics through the coordination, organisation and advice on projects that strive to achieve full equality and the society's respect of the affective-sexual diversity.
DECLARATION OF SUPPORT TO THE LGBTIQ COMMUNITY
1 - We declare ourselves respectful of sexual diversity and with the reality, whatever it may be, of all people.
2 - We condemn any situation that leads to inequality and / or hateful attitudes towards other people due to their identity and / or sexual orientation.
3 - We commit ourselves to be an active part in the fight against discriminations motivated by sexual and / or identity choice.
4 - We express our commitment to be positive references in the fight against any type of inequality.
5 - We demand that the necessary measures to be taken from the educational entities to deal with sexual and gender diversity.
6 - We will fight for equal opportunities, regardless of gender and / or sexual orientation.
7 - We condemn any prejudice caused by sexual identity and / or orientation.
8 - Because it is not about being all the same but about learning to respect differences.
9 - As members of the non-formal educational family we are committed to promoting equality values regardless of sexual and / or identity choices.
