CALVIÀ AND SALOU TWINNING ACT IN THE COSTA DAURADA MUNICIPALITY FROM WHERE TOMORROW THE XXXII REI EN JAUME REGATTA PARTICIPANTS WILL DEPART
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, presided over the twinning act that took place in the municipality of the Costa Daurada, after the signing that took place last week in the Plenary room of the Calvià Town Hall.
For this, in the municipality of Tarragona, a commemorative plaque was discovered at the roundabout at the entrance to the municipality and the institutional act took place in the courtyard of the Torre Vella de Salou.
The event was attended by municipal representatives of both municipalities, as well as those responsible for the nautical clubs of Santa Ponça and Salou, from where the participating boats will depart tomorrow in the XXXII rei En Jaume Regatta that recreates the journey that Jaume I made in the 1229 conquest. The deputy mayor for Culture and Councillor for Santa Ponça, Nati Francés, and the deputy mayor for Sports, Eva Serra attented on behalf of the Calvià Town Hall.
Both mayors highlighted the historic relationship between the two municipalities, which, in addition, are currently part of the Alliance of 8 Tourist Municipalities.
The twinning between Calvià and Salou was approved at the Plenary last July. For the municipality of the Costa Daurada is the first twinning, while Calvià is also twinned with the municipality of Nerpio, Albacete.
