WELCOME TO THE HIGH SCHOOLS THAT HAVE RECEIVED A 'CHAIR AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE' RECOGNITION OF THE UIB
The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, has welcomed this morning the head teachers and teaching staff of both Obligatory Secondary Education Schools, IES Son Ferrer and IES Bendinat, that have been recognised with the chair against gender violence of the University of the Balearic Islands.
The IES Son Ferrer has won the first prize, and the IES Bendinat has won the second, for the work they have been doing in recent years in relation to violence against women. A work that is also carried out by the IES Calvià (the third high school of the municipality), in which the entire educational community is involved and which is carried out transversally, with the aim of freeing young people from any type of sexist prejudice.
The mayor, together with the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés; the Son Ferrer councillor, Alfonso Molina; and the councillor of Bendinat, Mayte Albertí, has congratulated and encouraged them to continue moving forward in this line.
