CALVIÀ WILL FORM A HUMAN RIBBON ON THE OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN

A human ribbon against violence towards women will be formed at the Senior Citizens Home of Calvià (Plaça Nova, 1. Calvià) on Friday 23rd November at 12.30 p.m.
This activity organised by Calvià Town Hall is part of the initiatives that have been launched during this month on the occasion of 25N, International Day against violence towards women. Participation in this human ribbon is open to all citizens.
On the same day, at 10 a.m., the educational community of the three Obligatory Secondary Education Schools of Calvià (IES Bendinat, IES Calvià and IES Son Ferrer) will remember the names of the women and children who have been killed by gender violence during 2018 in our country, in the act of desire, rejection and remembrance. On Friday, at the IES Bendinat, the libraries of Calvià will have an area for reading, recommended bibliography and specialised in topics related to sexist violence and the projection 'From the obvious to the subtle' (tour through the sexist advertising on television).
In addition to workshops and conferences, a photograph contest on Instagram has been organised, under the hastag #nohopermetis18 and #calviadiuno. The images must reflect, in an original and creative way, the types of violence suffered by women in their day to day life and the responsibility that society has to not allow it.
