Friday, 19th June 2020

EXTRAORDINARY AIDS CALL IN CALVIÀ FOR TRADE REACTIVATION WITH NEW MEASURES TO PROMOTE ELECTRONIC COMMERCE

The call also includes aids for establishments modernisation and a new line to adapt the premises to the protocols derived from Covid-19

This is one of the measures included in the Social, Economic and Environmental Recovery Plan signed last Monday

This Friday, the Information Commission has given a go ahead to one of Calvià's economic reactivation measures that are included in the Social, Economic and Environmental Recovery Plan that the mayor signed last Monday with all municipal political groups (PSOE, Podem-Més, PP, Vox and Ciudadanos), UGT and CCOO unions, all the hotel associations of the municipality and the representatives of the associated offer (ACOTUR, Restauración-CAEB and ABONE).

These are extraordinary aids to promote the economic reactivation of the trade sector, which, in this call, includes novelties that seek to provide answers to the situation caused by Covid-19, both in regard to the new sanitary-hygienic protocols that must be followed, as, and above all, a drive to modernise the sector.

The first of these novelties is the line of aids offered for establishments to join electronic commerce. The cost of acquiring computer and electronic equipment, the acquisition or renewal of software licenses and professional services or any cost associated with the creation, updating or maintenance of a website, will be financed, either to advertise the activity or to sell products or services. This line of aids will subsidise 80% of the action cost, with a municipal contribution of a maximum of 6,000 euros.

Second, and also as a new measure, aids will be given for the acquisition and installation of elements of a sanitary-hygienic nature that are mandatory or recommended in regulations issued as a consequence of Covid-19, such as protection screens, signaling vinyls, hydroalcoholic gel and dispensers, etc.

The third line of aids is aimed at modernising premises and will finance renovation or maintenance works, the acquisition of furniture or equipment, the installation of awnings and canopies outside, the modification of advertising elements or the modification of existing installations.

In these last two lines of aid, 80% of the cost of what is done will be financed, in establishments of up to 300 m2, with a municipal contribution of a maximum of 9,000 euros. This represents an improvement over the calls with aids for establishments modernisations from previous years, in which 60% of the cost of what was done was financed, with a maximum of 6,000 euros.

Aspects such as the relaxation of requirements to facilitate access to aids or the simplification of the documents submission process are also improved.

This call will finance actions that are carried out during 2020, allowing actions that have been carried out since 1st January 2020 to be retroactive.

All these Calvià aid lines will be compatible with other subsidies, aid, income or resources that other public administrations call for the same purpose.
