SOIB joint job selection days

CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND SOIB COLLABORATE IN THE JOINT IMPLEMENTATION OF TWO SELECTION DAYS AIMED AT COVERING 70 JOBS IN COMPANIES OF THE MUNICIPALITY

From 2015 to the present, Calvià Town Hall has decidedly opted for new formulas for public-private collaboration in terms of labour intermediation. This strategy was evidenced in both, the Job Fairs held in 2017 and 2019; and in the launching of numerous selection days with companies located in Calvià during 2018, 2020 and 2022.

This year, together with the SOIB, it is launching an innovative experience based on holding two selection days in the Sala Palmanova that will respond to the needs of covering 70 jobs in the well-known commercial brand Eroski and in the multinational tourism company Meliá Hotels.

The IFOC, with the approval of the SOIB, has published a platform on the website ifoc.es/contigo to collect all registrations for said offers. Once the registration deadlines have ended, a unified profile assessment task (pre-selection) will be carried out; and the final communication of candidates for their interview will be carried out by the persons responsible for the aforementioned companies.

On 14th March, the Eroski selection day will be held to cover 15 jobs amongst different posts (2 for fishmonger-butcher-delicatessen staff and 13 for cashiers and replenishment staff). On 23rd March, is the turn of Meliá Hotels, where 55 jobs will be selected (16 for hotel cleaning staff and assistants, 8 for technical maintenance and assistant personnel, 6 for reception, 5 dishwashers, 10 for kitchen staff and 10 bar and cafeteria staff).

On the other hand, the IFOC is working, unilaterally, with different companies in the municipality to be able to carry out more selection sessions. At present, a minimum of 5 days with 6 companies are planned, for a total of 140 jobs, with the aim of hiring in this tourist season. Our experience, based on the management of this type of events in previous years, tells us that these figures will increase substantially in the coming days.

These actions not only respond to the recruitment needs of the business community located in Calvià, but are also an objective and tangible sample of the good health and job opportunities offered by the labour market in Calvià for the current work season.
