Cats identification and sterilisation grants

Calvià, 13th March 2023

CALVIÀ DOMESTIC CATS IDENTIFICATION AND STERILISATION CAMPAIGN

Calvià Town Hall promotes a campaign to identify and sterilise domestic cats through a grants call to the owners of these pets that has been published in the BOIB no. 30 of 9th March 2023.

The maximum budget allocated this year 2023 for the aforementioned call will be 10.000€. Grants are established for identification with a chip up to a maximum of 30€, and for the sterilisation of female and male cats up to a maximum of 80€ and 40€ respectively.

In order to access the aid, it is essential that cat owners are registered in Calvià.

The vet's invoice and documentation proving that the pet is duly identified and registered with the RIACIB must be submitted in order to receive the aid.

Applications may be submitted from the day after publication in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands and until 30th November 2023.

The procedure for awarding subsidies subject of this call will be that of non-competitive and the grants awarding and will be carried out in chronological order of entry until the budget item is completed.

This is an initiative aimed at raising awareness on the importance of identifying and sterilising companion animals, in order to promote and increase the maximum number of sterilisations of these pets.

This contributes to minimising the increase in abandoned specimens on the streets and to reducing the number of unwanted litters in the municipality.

All the information is available on the Town Hall's website, in the Environment - Animal Welfare section.
