AZIZ BOUTOIL AND AMELIA ÁLVAREZ WIN THE 38TH EDITION OF HALF MARATHON MAGALUF

Wang Xinxin and Li Jingfen have won in the 10-kilometre category

1.200 athletes have participated in the race, which has taken place between the towns of Magaluf, Palmanova and Son Ferrer

The 38th edition of the Half Marathon Magaluf urban race was held on Saturday, 22nd April, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvià, a clean race with a record participation of international athletes in which around 1.200 people have participated and which has been carried out without notable incidents. Aziz Boutoil and Amelia Álvarez have been winners of the 21 kilometre half marathon in the men's and women's categories, respectively. For their part, Wang Xinxin and Li Jingfen won the 10-kilometre race.

Half marathon race
The 21-kilometre route started from the Magaluf athletics track to cover urban tracks, natural areas and some faster tracks through the Calvià towns of Magaluf, Palmanova and Son Ferrer. The last 5 kilometres have been especially fast, between the Palmanova beach promenade (where different activities were organised on the occasion of Book's Day), the main arteries of Magaluf and the return to the athletics track.

The first to cross the finish line in the men's 21-kilometre modality was the Spanish Aziz Boutoil (ADA Calvià), with a time of 01:08:11. He was followed by the Irishman Shane Collins (Leevale AC) (01:11:37) and the Spaniard Antton Belaustegi Txurruka (Amandarri Tri) (01:11:47). In the women's category, it was the athlete Amelia Álvarez González (Viva Es Raiguer) who won, after completing the race in a time of 01:24:54. The next to cross the finish line were the local runners Francisca De Villalonga Zaforteza (Total Team Mallorca) (01:24:56) and Nuria Pérez (C.A. Filipides) (01:28:49)

10-kilometre race
For its part, the 10-kilometre race, which condensedly brings together the essence of Palmanova and Magaluf with a fast and varied circuit, has been especially disputed thanks to the participation of four professional Chinese athletes who are in Magaluf doing a sports stay since February.

In the men's category, it was finally the Chinese athlete Wang Xinxin who won the race, followed by the Spanish Adrián Guirado (Peña deportiva Santa Eularia) and the Dutchman Ties Van Den Hurk (Team Zevenheuvelen). In the women's 10 km, the first place went to the Chinese Li Jingfen (Team China), after which her compatriot Zhang Shanshan (Team China) and the Italian Giulia Vettor (Cus Parma) reached the finish line of the Magaluf athletics track.

For the Deputy Mayor for Sports, the race has met expectations, it has managed to concentrate a large number of athletes in Magaluf and its surroundings, with different objectives, but with something in common, the desire to enjoy a great afternoon of 'running'. Magaluf and Calvià breathe sport in April.
